Dr. Quayle has found success as a chief scientist and crystal growth expert
EAST LANSING, MI, September 15, 2021 – Paul Connolly Quayle, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. Since 2020, Dr. Quayle has excelled as the chief scientist at Great Lakes Crystal Technologies, which manufactures single-crystal diamond materials for a number of sectors. Thanks to his vast knowledge of crystal growth, he focuses on increasing the maturity level of the aforementioned materials in order to maximize their capacity for technological application. Dr. Quayle and his team also strive to accelerate the development and commercialization of diamond-based optics with the goal of creating a cost-effective source of high-quality diamond crystals.
Prior to his recruitment at Great Lakes Crystal Technologies, Dr. Quayle served as a postdoctoral research associate at Michigan State University. From 2016 to 2018, he refined his expertise in semiconductor synthesis as a research scientist at Kyma Technologies Inc. Dr. Quayle had previously earned a doctorate in condensed matter and materials physics from Case Western University after obtaining a Bachelor of Science in physics from John Carroll University.
Alongside his primary professional responsibilities, Dr. Quayle maintains an active affiliation with the Materials Research Society. He attributes a great deal of his success to his honesty, which enables him to identify flaws in scientific research rather than overlooking problematic areas in an attempt to garner more funding or resources. In the near future, Dr. Quayle intends to establish Great Lakes Crystal Technologies as an industry leader by accessing the full potential of his brilliant team of scientists.
